Burning a wooden wick candle from Scents Wicks and More LLC can be a delightful experience, but it requires a bit of care to ensure a proper burn. Here are some tips to help you get the best results:

  • Trim the wick: Before lightening your wooden wick candle, make sure to trim the wick about 1/8 to 3/16 of an inch. This helps ensure a cleaner and brighter burn. 
  • First Burn: The initial burn is crucial. allow the candle to burn long enough so that the wax melts across the entire surface, reaching the edges of the container. 
  • Lighting the Wick: Hold the flame to the wick for approximately 20 seconds to ensure it catches.
  • Burn Time: Avoid burning your wood wick candle for short periods (less than an hour.)
  • Do not burn candles for more than 4 hours at one time.
  • Extinguish with Care: When putting out your wooden wick candle, use a candle snuffer or gently blow out the flame. 
  • Always burn your candle on a heat-resistant surface and away from drafts, pets, and children.
  • Monitor your Flame: If you notice the flame getting too low, it might be due to an overly long wick or excess debris in the candle. Extinguish the flame, let the candle cool, trim the wick, and remove any debris before re-lightening.
